We complete 10 years of being in 2021, we are deeply grateful for forces known and unknown that have nourished us to walk this journey. To honour the journey of ten years, that all of us have been a part of - we wish to make ten offerings. Here's Shashank's message to the community.
Renewed Vision and Core Values
In the year 2019, the Youth Alliance team came together to enquire into different strands of our work vis-à-vis rapidly changing times. The long process that followed was greatly rewarding in terms of - offering deep dive into not just our work, but the world at large and building capacity to rearticulate our hope for the world. It helped carve core elements that majorly inform our work and manner of living as a community. We are grateful to have had the contribution of several mentors, friends, and alumni who helped us mend it all together. The following document presents the crux of a long and gratifying journey.
Six-week Facilitation Intensive Samvaad
We are delighted to launch our first ever facilitation program - Six Week Intensive based on Samvaad. The theme is “Facilitating Conversations that Matter.” Our goal is to create alternative structures of facilitation with the intention to create a dialogue for a new future.
This will not be a “training”, but a lived experience in which we challenge the existing structures of how we gather for conversations. We will explore questions and processes that transform our own thinking and how we relate to collective coexistence, learning and change.
We will learn from Peter Block’s work on “Community - The Structure of Belonging”, using small group pedagogy, Sadanand Ji’s work over the last 40+ years and, Youth Alliance’s philosophy of facilitation.
Art Fund-Raiser
From the 1st to the 10th of October, we are celebrating Daan Utsav by raising funds for the work of 'creating harmony with oneself, others and nature'. We are bringing together 7 community artists who have agreed to offer their art work (created on the said theme). The intention is to invite people to contribute to Youth Alliance by purcharing the art work.
Fortnightly Satsang with Elders
To mark the 10 year anniversary of Youth Alliance, we are having ten satsangs with elders. Every fortnight, we are celebrating the search for meaning and truth through conversation with our elders. The fortnightly series has been walking along the moon cycle, and our themes are guided by the 5 core values of Youth Alliance - Leadership, Service, Community, Healing and Inner work. Its been deeply enriching to have conversations with elders like Ravi Bhaiya, Sadanand Ji, Seetha Ji with your profound questions and reflections.
We are excited for the upcoming Satsangs, do join in
The Mycelium Way
From April 2020, we went into the process of redream a function of Youth Alliance - Leadership Development Programs. Over the last one year with deep inquiry and pilots, it has evolved into 'The Mycelium Way'.
Individual Transformation has been the most important thread at YA, with TMW we are attempting work into collective transformation. It is urgent that we begin recognizing the complex relationship between a person and a group of people in order to transform both for the better.
Read about Creating Humane Performance Management System at GoDesi here.
The other six offering are:
- Acknowledge all team members who traveled with YA intimately;
- Publish stories of exceptional work by our alumni;
- Create a donor circle to closely look at the role of money in the subtle work of spiritual-social change;
- Host an alumni residential in December;
- Strategize for the upcoming decade.
More information about these would be shared at different points of time, this year.
